About Us

Cornwall Mammal Group was founded in 1999 and is affiliated to The Mammal Society. We aim to protect the mammals of Cornwall by promoting conservation and recording.

Anyone with an interest in mammals, and their conservation, is welcome to join us and get involved with our training, recording and social events!

We work in close partnership with Cornwall Wildlife Trust and the Environmental Records Centre for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (ERCCIS), who both offer support for our events and recording efforts.

  • Raise awareness and understanding of mammals and their threats

  • Encourage recording and study of mammals in Cornwall

  • Produce an up to date Mammals of Cornwall Atlas

  • Provide training to identify and survey mammals
