Dormice Surveying - Camelford and Launceston
We had a couple of trips back out to Hamatethy near Camelford, here we were looking for signs of dormice but we have also been back to check out bats and gloworms! We carried out surveys at Oldhay farm near Launceston with the Launceston Parish Wildlife Group in May.

Penryn Campus BioBlitz
CMG were invited to talk mammals with the students and locals at the Penryn 2022 Bioblitz organised by The University of Exeter Ecosoc – lots of interest in our display and thanks to Mary, Anna and Kelly for helping out.

Mad March Hares Talk
Hares are rather erratically distributed across Cornwall so it is a real treat if we see them and Steph’s fascinating talk provided lots of information on their biology and ecology as well as the cultural and mythological association which make them so intriguing.

Barn Owl Pallet Analysis
This spring (across various dates and locations) members worked hard picking apart hundreds of barn owl pellets. These had been collected from roosts around the county by BTO and CBWPS teams. The members were able to identify nearly 2500 small mammal remains and collect records for 9 different species from 45 separate sites.
