Beaver Site Visit and AGM

This year’s AGM was held at Woodland Valley Farm, the site of the Cornwall Beaver project. The event started with lunch provided by the farm and an amazing selection of cakes from the committee. Farm owner, Chris Jones, then showed us around the beaver site, which has changed substantially since our last visit, before the beavers were introduced. Since the introduction in June, the water level has risen and the beavers have started to build dams!

Following the visit, we held our AGM, led by current chair Dave Groves. The committee were re-elected and financial support was pledged to the Cornwall Beaver project. In addition, we recognised Sue Sayer for her dedication and work studying grey seals in Cornwall!

We finished the afternoon with a joint talk on Beaver Projects across the country and how they affect local biodiversity, by Kelly Moyes and Pete Cooper.

Thanks to all our speakers, Chris Jones for hosting us, his catering team for a fantastic lunch, the committee for an excellent array of baked goods, and everyone that attended, new members and old.
